Before Your Wedding
Weddings

Choosing the right vendor(s)

For most couples, a wedding reception is the culmination of many months (sometimes years) of careful planning and execution.  Yet most couples have never planned an event of this magnitude before.  So how can you make sure you have the very best for your wedding?

The answer is simple.  Choose the right vendors.  Whether you're looking for a location, a photographer, a catering company or a disc jockey, you can apply the same principles and criteria to make your selection:

Define Your Needs

Do you want a DJ or a band?

Do you want a buffet or a sit-down meal?

Do you want an all-inclusive package or do you want to have more flexibility in choosing your vendors/services.

Make a list of all the things that are important to you

Establish Your Budget and Prioritize

Determine what is most important to you.

Is a formal dinner more important than magnificent pictures?

Is a designer cake more important than a fun Disc Jockey?

Do you really want to have 400 people at your wedding or would you rather have it more intimate?

Rank your priorities in order of importance

Establish a preliminary budget

Request Preliminary Information

Identify and contact between five and ten vendors of each type

Establish a range for price and service

Determine the average price for each service

Rank vendors in order of preference

Review Your Budget and Adjust Priorities

Use average prices to revise your budget

Review and revise your priorities

Narrow Your Search

Interview in person the top 2-3 vendors for each category

Shop for value, not price

It's not what you pay, it's what you get for what you pay

Check vendor references

Confirm availability

Request written contract

Hire Your Preferred Vendor

Weddings

No doubt, in this age of electronic communication you will have several disc jockeys and entertainment companies responding to your ads.  This makes it impossible to interview all of them and make an educated selection from a single e-mail.

We recommend you narrow your search to at least three, but no more than five disc jockeys and make appointments to meet with them in person.  This will give you an opportunity to get to know them in person, interact and ask questions.  You will then have a better way to see what they offer and how their proposals fit your plans.

Once you've narrowd your selection, it's time to meet with your disc jockey.  We prefer to meet with you at the location of your wedding.  However, some of these locations are familiar to us and may not require an onsite meeting.

Weddings

Your wedding is only the culmination of many days, weeks and months of planning.  It all started the day he proposed.  Now, as your wedding vision starts to come together, how can you make sure you get everything you want on your wedding day?

For some couples, the choice is simple.  They hire a wedding planner/consultant to help them plan every detail for their wedding.  From color selection and vendor selection, to time lines and financial matters.

Other couples choose to do all the planning themselves.  They choose their own vendors, knowing that this gives them a greater opportunity to get to know their vendors and know that their vision will be realized.

If you choose to plan your own wedding, don't worry.  You're not alone.  We are here to help you, every step of the way.  From planning your wedding timeline, to lighting for your wedding and selecting the right music, we can help.  And, of course, on your wedding day, don't worry.  Leave it to us.  We can help the evening flow smoothly, working with your catering staff, photographers and other vendors to make sure your wedding day is picture perfect.
